THE ASSOCIATION OF BRITISH
TRAVEL AGENTS
This is a trade body for
travel agents and tour operators. It has both a 'commercial role'
to promote the interests of its members and a 'regulatory' role.
ABTA members have to operate to Codes of Conduct produced by the
organisation, they are bonded so that client's money is protected
in the event of failure and in the event of an unresolved dispute
between a passenger and an ABTA member there is an arbitration service
available which can be used as an alternative to legal action.
